Ocean colo(u)r scene
I found this scene tucked in the corner of one of my wide-angle shots at Oso Flaco:
It’s an unsharpened extreme crop from an optically-poor part of the lens, so the quality is nothing to write home about – but the light is beautiful.
I never think to bring a telephoto lens when I’m shooting landscapes!

It does have a nice painterly quality. The soft tonality is great. I’ve been feeling pretty lo-fi myself with some of my lighting, just trying to capture the mood and not necessarily the detail… A simple, visceral, gut reaction.
Oh, and I like the inclusion of the (u) in your title, I always prefer U in words that have the option.
Thanks! The title is actually a reference to the band of the same name…
Gotta love that little line of fog that outlines the dunes to the left. :-)
I may be over-analyzing, but I think it makes the composition. Otherwise, the bar of hills would be too heavy, no?
You’re right that colour/atmosphere is the star, here, tho.
Yes – the fog is what really made the shot work for me, too.
